Project Expectations

Your project may be done individual or in groups. The project will be carved up in conjunction with the instructor, so that an appropriate amount of work will be involved for each member of the project.

There are three deliverables for this project:
  1. Project proposal (10%)
  2. Software (70%)
  3. Project presentation (20%)

Proposal Presentation (10%)

A one-page written description of the intended project along with a short presentation will be due in the third week of class. In your submission, you must identify: In addition, you may want to pose a series of questions for discussion to gather feedback from the class regarding ideas and programming feedback during the presentation. If you find the presentation discussion helpful, you can modify your written description and submit it after class.

Software Implementation and Evaluation (70%)

This course is about intelligent user interfaces. Naturally, your project must focus on an interface issue and provide an intelligent solution. However, aside from the software development aspect, your project may be "heavier" on the modeling (i.e., mathematical) side, or on the evaluation side. These aspects will all be considered toward the project. If you'd like to focus more on any one of these aspects, that will be fine. However, be sure to discuss your project ideas with the instructor so that an appropriate amount of work is involved.
