News - Chem 305 Lab requires submission of reports to Turnitin
All lab reports must be submitted as a printed hard copy and also online to 'Turnitin' originality scanning software. Turnitin will compare your submitted paper to a variety of online databases including the papers submitted by your classmates. You will receive an email with login instructions for the Turnitin web page. Be sure to check the email account that you have registered with the SSC. Failure to submit your report through the Turnitin site will result in a mark of zero for that report.
Note: sample calculations can be submitted hand-written with the hard-copy submission - they do not need to be included in the online submission.
For a detailed discussion of plagiarism and academic integrity, including the policies and procedures, may be found at the following: http://okanagan.students.ubc.ca/calendar/index.cfm?tree=3,54,0,0
The policy is basically one of zero tolerance. The penalty for plagiarism is usually a zero for the work involved and a letter of reprimand. Penalties for theft of papers or repeated plagiarism may be expulsion.
