Join us in person or remotely through web conferencing as we investigate a technology tool and its instructional uses. The January session will focus on presentation software. In February and March we will highlight features in BlackBoard Learn.
D.A.T.E Discussion About Teaching Excellence
Title: Scholarly Approaches to Teaching Excellence
Do we align our teaching with how students learn? This participatory session will focus on evidence based practice and moving toward a learning centered environment.
10:00am-11:00am - ASC 130, will focus on the equipment available in ASC 130 or 140.
1:30pm-2:30pm - SCI 333 will focus on the equipment available in SCI 333, 337, ARTS 366, 376, 386, and FIP 204.
Participants will be given an overview of how to use all the audiovisual equipment provided in UBC Okanagan's technology enhanced classrooms. Please bring your laptop for hands-on practice connecting to the A/V system.

This workshop is meant to support faculty with creating a teaching philosophy as part of their teaching dossier. Participants will learn the most important components to include in their philosophy.
This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about the purpose and contents of a teaching portfolio.
Join the conversation about creating and maintaining inclusive classrooms, dealing with diversity issues and much more.
This workshop will involve participants sharing ideas on best practices with large class sizes. Issues addressed will include use of physical space, assessment practices and implementing group work. If you are looking for new ideas or have some to share then this is a workshop for you!
Faculty will be placed into a "Square" with three other instructors from diverse content areas. An initial meeting is held where participants meet to schedule classroom visits and discuss their goals for participating in the program. This workshop will examine the process of peer review and be an information session for those needing to be peer reviewed for tenure and promotion, those interested in having a peer review done for formative reasons, and for those who have been given the task of reviewing their peers.
