Title: Understanding the University as a Ranked Society: A Cultural Analysis of the Relationship of Evaluation to Teaching and Learning. The discussion will take the form of an open meeting hosted by the Centre for Teaching and Learning.
The discussion will begin with Dr. John Wagner presenting his insights on 'Teaching Excellence. This will be followed by an open discussion. We encourage you to participate in this important topic. Please Register

Come for one day and learn about constructive alignment of learning outcomes, content choices, instructional strategies and assessment. This will assist in planning your courses for fall. If you are getting tired of using PowerPoint as your class presentation this workshop may be of interest. This session will provide an overview of the Prezi presentation tool and how it can be used to creative dynamic presentations. Several presentation examples will be provided and attendees will be provided an opportunity to work with the tool during the session.

Call for nominations begins Friday, November 15th, 2013. Collected nominations are to be submitted to the unit/ department head by March 13, 2014. The Dean of the Faculty and AVP Students are to review nominations and the selected four from each faculty is to be delivered to Lynne McPherson (SCI 265) by Wednesday, March 26th, 2014. This presentation will share examples of how video can be used to support both instruction and assessment as well as increase engagement. The using of the new UBC video streaming solution as well as the mini studio in Sci 331 will be featured. The session will conclude will participants recording a video of an interview and posting online as way of demonstrating the easy at which content can be created and published. Register
