Course Design in a Nutshell - Constructive Alignment

This workshop will take a look at the main ideas behind course design - context analysis and constructive alignment with enhanced student learning as its goal. This may assist you in planning for your courses next term.

Using WebCT Vista Gradebook and Calculating your Final Grades

These drop in sessions are designed for instructors or TAs who use WebCT Vista Gradebook and require assistance with calculating final grade formulas. These grades may then be exported in a format that you can upload to FSC. Exporting and importing grades requires that you be somewhat proficient with Microsoft Excel.

(Please note that you do not need to import grades to FSC, this process can be easily done manually especially for smaller sized classes.)

The goBEYOND Teach-In
What: A part of your course (can be 15 minutes, one class, a project, or any other idea you may have) that is dedicated to discussion about climate change, sustainability and poverty. The goal is to spark a province-wide discussion on climate change issues and solutions, and to share the ideas that arise across campuses.

National Survey of Student Engagement Workshop
The Centre hosted a workshop reviewing data from the 2008 and 2011 NSSE results. There are always many interesting interpretations of any data set and this was no exception. A great discussion was held on the impact of the survey on teaching and learning on this campus and of course we looked at comparative data at other Canadian universities. We will continue the discussion with follow-up workshops next term. In the mean time you can access the NSSE results here:
