Presenting Your Own Database Assignment
This assignment is designed to test your ability to independently read and understand technical writing and systems, summarize and present findings to educate others, and produce summary and instructional materials for a group. These are critical skills for a successful developer and system architect.
Each group has selected a database and will produce the materials explaining how the database works and interesting features to the class. This assignment is marked on the quality of the materials produced and how well the group communicates the knowledge in the presentation and helps the class during the lab time.
Deliverables
- A minimum 15 slide presentation summarizing the chosen database and its features. Use your own template or the standard course template. (90 marks)
- At least 3-5 web references that are excellent resources for users. (10 marks).
- A 25 or 50 mark assignment with answer key that should take between 4-6 hours to complete (3-4 hours for a 25 mark assignment). (100 marks)
- Give an approximately 15 to 30 minute presentation on the database which may include a demonstration. Serve the role as instructor during the 1 or 2 class times when presenting the database which means answering any questions and helping with technical issues. (50 marks)
