22C:244 Database System Implementation

Spring 2006 - University of Iowa

Overview

The fourth offering of 22C:244 Database System Implementation was offered in Spring 2006. Overall, the class went well as most material was similar to the previous year. The course was small (12 students), but 4 of those students were taking it remotely via taped lectures distributed over the Internet. 10 of the 12 students has just completed 144 in the Fall and decided to take 244 in the Spring. The course involved homework and programming assignments, a midterm exam, a final exam, and a major project. Most students did very well, and many created interesting projects. An enormous amount of time was given for the midterm and final exam.

The class was in 112 Macbride Hall from 2:30-5:00 p.m. Wednesdays.

This was a good class despite some missed classes and shortened office hours due to my travel.
