Each student (or group) will select three papers each presenting a dynamical systems model. In consultation with Dr Tyson, one paper will be selected for the Term Project.
Each group will write a brief summary (abstract) of their term project for distribution to the class the week before presentations start. The purpose of the summary is to give the rest of the class some idea what is going to be presented, so that they can come prepared to ask questions. Each summary should include the following elements:
- context: what sections of the class material does the project deal with
- basic question: what is the project about
- outline of the topic: what the students will learn by attending your talk
Each student will give a 12-minute presentation of their chosen project to the class. There will be an additional 3 minutes allowed for questions at the end of the presentation. The presentation will be marked on the following elements:Students will be marked on the questions they ask after each talk - it is expected that everyone in the class will ask at least one question during each presentation day.

The written report should be a carefully-written out summary of the paper, with links to the material taught in class. The written report will be marked on the following elements:
- clarity and organisation
- identification of links with material taught during the lectures
- evaluation of the paper
